Behavioral Concepts, Inc. (BCI) finds new home at 345 Greenwood Street in Worcester, MA
Earlier this year, Behavioral Concepts, Inc. (BCI), a company of behavioral clinicians specializing in the care of children with autism in Central Massachusetts, celebrated its 10th anniversary. The latest chapter of the Worcester, MA –based will involve a new home as the company will relocate its Worcester care center to 345 Greenwood Street, Worcester, MA at the end of October.
“We have grown substantially since our beginnings. With more than 160 people on staff and the demand for our services increasing dramatically, relocating really wasn’t a choice,” said BCI Founder Dr. Jeffrey Robinson. “With our new location, we have the space we need to better serve our current students and the growth we anticipate over the next several years.”
BCI is currently hiring full- and part-time Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) to accommodate the anticipated growth at the new facility.
Currently, it’s been reported that one in every 88 children is diagnosed with an ASD. Through its host of services and programs, BCI helps children with autism and autism spectrum disorders develop their learning skills and social skills. In addition, BCI works with families of children with autism and ASDs to alert them to services provided by the school system and by their health insurance.
“Our social skills program is a great example of how we can help children with ASDs affordably,” said Robinson. “We’re the only company in the area that offers a social skills program that’s covered by insurance.”
The program is a three-hour session on Saturday mornings, from 9:30 to 12:30. Topics covered include:
- Eye Contact
- Appropriate Play
- Teen Relationships
- Food Tolerance
- Language Building
- Role Playing Social Scenarios
- Initiating and Reciprocating Peer Interaction
“This program has been so successful we’ve offered it during the summer. With insurance helping out, more and more children have been able to benefit,” said Robinson. “With our new facility, we should be able to enhance this program and make it available to more students as we hire additional BCBAs.”
As for the new location, a grand opening celebration is planned for later in 2013. BCI’s corporate offices are located in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
