Our Story

At BCI, our mission is simple. We use applied behavior analysis (ABA) to help children diagnosed with autism discover the world around them. We teach them daily living skills so they can take part in their communities and reach their fullest potential.

ABA is an effective and well-researched method of teaching children with autism a variety of skills related to communication, social interaction, motor skills, and problem solving. This therapeutic approach has been proven to improve the functional capabilities of children diagnosed with autism by systematically breaking down challenging tasks into smaller components.

Jeffrey Robinson, PhD, founded BCI in 2002 and developed it to be the go-to provider of ABA intervention in central Massachusetts. Dr. Robinson built his team by hiring people who are passionate about helping children through discovery and learning. Although Dr. Robinson retired in 2019, his legacy is still alive through BCI’s staff of dedicated experts who believe that each child has unique strengths and abilities just waiting to be uncovered. We provide families with the support they need to set achievable goals for their children. Then we partner with them to make sure their children learn the skills necessary to reach those targets.

In the last 20 years, BCI has experienced tremendous growth. We attribute that surge in growth to our love for children and our mission to help them discover their strengths and abilities. We strive to foster children’s unique potential and help them achieve success in school and life.

BCI has grown to be the preeminent provider of Specialty Services for Early Intervention, helping children under 3 receive the early intervention services needed to reach critical developmental milestones as well as the go-to provider for personalized, contemporary ABA therapy in the Learning Center and home & community-based environments.

BCI is part of LEARN Behavioral, a national organization dedicated to nurturing the unique potential of children with autism. We support families from day one. We consider you, as parents and caregivers, your child’s first and most important teacher. We partner with you to create an environment in which you and your child can thrive.
